studydudes:

hey guys!! I’m Rachel, and I run studydudes, a new study blog (also, I follow back from brosbeforedoes)!! I figured I’d make a masterpost with a bunch of resources I’ve learned about and started using! hope this helps!! :)

apps / software / websites / chrome extensions (all free!)

  • FocusNow (app): basically you set a timer to increments of 25 minutes and while you’re focusing you grow a tree! and you grow a farm but if you use your phone while your tree is growing it’ll die
  • My Study Life (app/website): an amazing site/app (it syncs across devices) that organizes your classes and exams and assignments it’s really helpful
  • Microsoft Onenote (app/software): onenote syncs across devices and lets you type anywhere on the page! it has a bunch of different color fonts and highlighters, and it has ID sticker type things!! it’s also great for cornell notes. you can find a bit of a how-to here
  • Evernote (website/app): I used to use evernote and it’s really great! you can use the website if you want, but there’s also a mobile app and a computer app, so you can access it offline! it also syncs across devices
  • Quizlet (website/app): electronic flashcards!! these saved me in sophomore years honors English when I was expected to know 400+ vocab words :) it also syncs across devices!
  • Coffitivity (website): recreates the “ambient sounds of a cafe to boost your creativity and help you work better”
  • Lanes (chrome extension): lanes is incredible! it has a beautiful clock, a built in pomodoro timer, and a to do list! plus it opens automatically when you open a new tab which is awesome
  • Website Blocker (chrome extension): I just got this (so I haven’t tested it out yet) but basically it blocks distracting sites!
